AES-256-GCM Encryption
All documents are encrypted using AES-256-GCM via Google's Tink cryptographic library. This is the same standard used by governments and financial institutions.
SQLCipher Database
All metadata and document information is stored in an encrypted SQLCipher database, protecting your data at rest.
Android Keystore
Encryption keys are securely stored in the Android Keystore, a hardware-backed secure enclave on your device.
App Lock (Biometric/PIN)

Sensitive Content Detection
Documents are automatically scanned for personal information like Social Security numbers, credit cards, bank accounts, phone numbers, emails, and passport numbers. When sensitive content is found, you get a warning banner and a recommendation to password-protect your export.
Privacy
DocuScanr is built from the ground up with privacy as the core principle. We do not collect, transmit, or store your data.
No Cloud Uploads
Your documents never leave your device. There are no cloud servers, no syncing, no remote storage.
No Accounts Required
Use DocuScanr without creating an account. No email, no phone number, no personal information needed.
No Analytics or Tracking
DocuScanr does not include analytics SDKs. We do not track how you use the app.
No Ads
DocuScanr does not display advertisements of any kind. Your attention is not the product.
Opt-In Crash Reporting Only
Crash reporting via Sentry is disabled by default. You can choose to enable it in settings to help improve the app.
Camera-Only Permission
The camera is the only device permission requested. No access to contacts, location, microphone, or anything else.
Third-Party Telemetry Blocked
Any telemetry from third-party libraries is actively blocked, ensuring no data leaks to external services.
